Overview

Two-day intensive workshop for Glyphs power users, editor switchers or swingers.

Enhance your Glyphs App skills with Rainer Erich Scheichelbauer in this weekend-intensive workshop designed for seasoned designers. Dive deep into advanced techniques such as outline optimisation, component management, interpolation, hinting, kerning strategies, and using project files to streamline your type production process.

This workshop is open to engaging conversation and questions specific to your workflow. It is ideal for designers with prior experience in font design who want to refine their process and for advanced users ready to unlock the full potential of Glyphs App.

Day 1

  • Outline optimization and harmonization: potential issues, finding and solving them
  • Making interpolation work: avoiding shapeshifting, unwanted distortions and kinks
  • What you need to know about PS and TT auto hinting: better screen display for Adobe and Windows applications

Day 2

  • Reusing shapes: step up your component game
  • Project files, custom parameters and tokens: streamlining your production
  • Automating kerning: bumping, optical kerning, overkerns and KernOn

Bring your MacBook with the latest Glyphs App installed. Lunch will be provided.

We hope to see you there!
